The SSC is committed to ensuring Government understands steel’s contribution towards a low carbon circular economy. We also advocate for balance in the narrative about embedded carbon in the different materials choices. Whole of life means exactly that – not a period that is convenient for some sectors and not for others. It must be materials agnostic and applied equally. SSC Believes that, in such an environment, steel will shine as the rockstar of the circular economy. These perspectives form the basis of our briefings sent to the incoming Ministers in the coalition government. Our Briefing to the Hon Simon Watts, the incoming Minister of Climate Change, is attached.
